Meet Phuong
Hi, my name is Phuong Dinh, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT). I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC).
My journey toward becoming a therapist grew from a desire to support people through life’s challenges and help them feel understood, valued and accepted for who they are. I believe life can sometimes feel like a series of tangled knots, leaving us unsure of where to begin or how to move forward. My hope is to walk alongside you as we gradually untangle them, one at a time, in a space where you can express yourself openly without fear of judgment.
Who I Work With
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, burnout, and life transitions.
You May Be Considering Therapy Because…
You may be considering therapy because you feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others or uncertain about your next steps. Whatever brings you to therapy, you deserve a space where your experiences are heard and met with compassion.
My Approach to Therapy
My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe you are the expert on your own life and my role is to collaborate with you in exploring your experiences, recognizing your strengths and values, and understanding patterns that may no longer serve you. Depending on your needs and goals, we will also explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and working toward accepting difficult emotions and make room for what matters most to you.
What It Is Like to Work With Me
I strive to create a warm, supportive and collaborative environment where you feel heard rather than judged and supported rather than rushed. I approach our work with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your individuality as I recognize that each person has a unique story shaped by their relationships, culture, identity and life experiences. Together, we will tailor our work to your needs, strengths, values, and personal pace.
